Argentina loves its star player, Lionel Messi, and the people hope that he will help the national team win another Copa America trophy this summer in the United States. Argentina are the World Cup Champions and the Copa America champions. Messi and the rest of the national team hope to win a third international tournament in a row as it could also be the last one for the Inter Miami attacker. The Argentina Soccer Federation [AFA] opened a Miami office late last year ahead of the Copa America and the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The building is worth $12 million, and on the side of the building, it includes a giant mural of Messi. Miami seems to be the new city that is taken over by Messi and the Argentines, which could lead to the star staying at Inter Miami and perhaps the national team.

In the main Argentina national team headquarters or the Argentina FA training facility, they added a new mural that showcases Messi kissing the World Cup and Angel Di Maria celebrating his goal in the final. Along with that, it showcases the team celebrating the victory against France and Emiliano Martinez in the bottom corner. The three stars, which represent the three World Cups won by Argentina are also on it.

The training facility was renamed after Lionel Messi after the 2022 World Cup win. AFA president Claudio ‘Chique’ Tapia announced the name change in front of the national team and Messi himself. In a public press conference, Tapia said, “We lived a historic day in our House of Ezeiza, which from today will be renamed Lionel Andrés Messi, in tribute to the best player in the world. I want to thank all the leaders, players and employees of AFA for being with us.”

Lionel Messi’s number 10 to be retired in Argentina

Claudio Tapia praises Messi to the highest standards, and he wants to make a huge gesture for him by retiring the number 10 shirt for the Argentina national team after he retires. Tapia said, “When Messi retires from the national team, we will not allow anyone else to wear the number 10 after him. The ‘10′ will be retired for life in his honor.”
