In recent days, several factors have been known that have inflicted Barcelona's economy since the departure of its now former captain Lionel Messi. Many are related to each other, because the problem stems from the same source: the absence of their franchise player.

The losses that were calculated for the soccer jersey market were shocking: by not being able to sell jackets with the Rosario's surname, the Spanish club will no longer receive between 20 and 30 million euros per year. It is that, of ten shirts that they sold of the club, eight had their last name.

And another piece of news emerged this week that puts the Catalan entity's treasury on the ropes: 26 thousand Blaugrana members asked not to renew the annual subscription to watch the games from the stands of the Camp Nou.

Of course, that hits the leadership hard, but the reason is timeless to the departure of Rosario: the deadline to request the withdrawal expired on August 1, five days before Barcelona announced the departure of Leo Messi. It is frightening to imagine the number of petitions the institution would have received if the expiration date had been extended to August 6.

Something similar happened with Real Madrid years ago, when the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo would mark a before and after, not only in the White House, but also in the history of La Liga. In this way, Real Madrid lost almost half of the subscribers that it once knew how to have, in a figure that exceeded 101,000 people. Today, the story is different, with only 60,000 active subscribers.
