What is the Golden Ball Dream Team, the new award that replaces the Golden Ball

The Golden Ball, an annual football award presented by French news magazine France Football, will not be given this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. In it's replacement, France Football created an award that will reward the best team in history and it is called the Golden Ball Dream Team.

The players of the dream team will be chosen after a pre-selection of 10 players per position. The people in charge of voting for the chosen players will be the same 170 members of the jury that votes for the Golden Ball every year. The winners of the Golden Ball Dream Team will be announced at the end of the year.

Among the candidates are the Argentinian from Barcelona FC Lionel Messi, who is the top winner of the Golden Ball with six; the Portuguese from Juventus Cristiano Ronaldo, who won the award five times, and the German from Bayern Munich Manuel Neuer, winner of the 2014 World Cup.

There are also soccer legends such as Lev Yashin, Cafú, Ronald Koeman, Roberto Carlos, Guardiola, Xabi, Alfredo Di Stéfano, Pele, Maradona, Puskas, Sócrates, Zidane, Garrincha, Zico, Romario, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Bobby Charlton and George Best. Who will have a place in this historic award?
