Once the leagues in Europe are finished, the football path doesn't stop, as the national team tournaments take over. There, Costa Rica appears in the semifinals of the Concacaf Nations League that they will have to play in June, against Mexico, but before they will face a friendly preparation against the United States.

That's right, those led by Ronald González know that the commitment against the Aztecs will not be easy at all, therefore, they planned a high-caliber friendly against the USMNT, also as a preliminary and preparation to reach the 2021 Gold Cup with everything.

For this reason, the coaching staff of the Central American team revealed the squad with the 23 protagonists who will defend their country in the Final Four of the Concacaf League of Nations, who will also be chosen to play against the USA in said friendly, in where the delicate absences of Keylor Navas and Cristian Gamboa are denoted.

This represents a hard loss for the Ticos, as having the presence of an imposing goalkeeper like the former Real Madrid man and current Paris Saint Germain goalkeeper, provides security and confidence to the rest of the players, but now they will have to go out onto the field without he.

On June 3, the Costa Rican National Team will play on the lawn of Sports Authority Field (Denver) against Mexico. Then, 6 days later they will do the same against the USA before facing the debut in the 2021 Gold Cup, on July 12.
