USMNT falls off of the top 10 on the new FIFA ranking

Despite the great summer that the United States had and having beaten the Mexican national team twice, this was not enough for the North Americans to go to Mexico, they had moved closer to tenth place, but the start of the Octagonal Final drove away again to those of the country of the Stars and Stripes of the tricolor.

Those led by Gregg Berhalter had two results that ended up being decisive in the FIFA ranking. The draws suffered by the team at the start of the Octagonal Final caused the Americans to fall to thirteenth place. Mexico is located in ninth position after having beaten Jamaica and Costa Rica in its first two games, in addition to equaling 1-1 against the Canaleros in Panama City, thus remaining the best in the area.

Italy moved up two places to fifth after their victory at Euro 2020, although the opponents they defeated in the final, England, remain twice above them in third place. Argentina, which beat Brazil in the Copa América final, climbs two places to sixth place.

Belgium continues leading despite losing in the quarterfinals of Euro 2020, with Brazil second and France fourth. Spain and Portugal complete the top 10 in seventh and eighth respectively.
