The last FIFA date, both the friendlies, the CONMEBOL and Nations League qualifiers, has been a failure for the highest entity in world soccer. The constant contagion of players around the world puts future dates in jeopardy and puts the focus of discussion on the way FIFA works.

One of the leagues that is most angry with FIFA is the MLS since before the players traveled they argued that it was not safe for the games to be played in South America. Once the two dates are over, Peruvian players who play in MLS cannot return because they are infected with Covid. Orlando City would have raised a complaint about the contagion of its goalkeeper Gallese.

I draw attention to the contagion of Cristiano Ronaldo with the Portugal team after the game against France. FIFA is investigating what happened and if Cristiano Ronaldo broke any of the protocols that FIFA had suggested prior to the matches. That Ronaldo was infected was very difficult for FIFA since he is one of the main stars of world soccer.

FIFA is afraid that it will happen on the next match date since surely many teams do not want to give up their players. The failure of these last two weeks leaves FIFA in a very unfavorable position. The MLS has already announced that it is very difficult for him to give up a player again so as not to break his own protocols
