A former Liga MX referee revealed one of the great secrets that Mexican soccer keeps and I put an end to the myths.

If there is something that is always suspected in Liga MX, it is whether the referees favor the big clubs at the request of the Televisa authorities. Referees are often separated from matches or handpicked to benefit one team or harm another. That is why the former referee, Roberto Garcia Orozco broke the silence and told the whole truth.

Orozco, who is no longer active, said that many times he has been the victim of constant attacks and decisions by order of the America club and consequently Televisa. The referee said that he only did his job properly but that it did not suit the interests of important people, so he suffered from suspensions or other things.

One of the moments he remembers was when he had to fire Miguel Herrera for verbal abuse against him in a match and his superiors decided that they should suspend him because he had been wrong. According to what Orozco said, that order came from Club America. Orozco said that he was banned from working only for applying the regulations against Miguel Herrera.

Another secret that Orozco uncovers is the myth about whether or not the club leaders choose the referees. Orozco said that this situation has existed since Liga MX has been played and that it is nothing new. The former referee came out in defense of his colleague who had been suspended for responding to Miguel Herrera that he cares about his team and not about how he was referencing. Will this problem that hurts Liga MX ever end?
