Tonight Antonio Mohamed's Rayados de Monterrey will face Robert Siboldi's Cruz Azul, and the 'Turco' decided to keep Rogelio Funes Mori in the starting line up. This decision made the Rayados fans explode as they believe that the forward's best moments has passed and they want new players in the offense.
The fans of the Monterrey team said that the only reason for Funes Mori to play is because he share nationality with the coach. They demand the inclusion of the Dutch striker Vincent Janssen in the starting team instead of the former River Plate forward, since according to them he is not only more forceful but also helps the team in the defensive side.
Rogelio Funes Mori is an untouchable player for Turco Mohamed and that bothers the fans a lot. Funes Mori joined the Mexican team in 2015 and in 5 years he has scored 112 goals in 222 games. That is to say that he has almost scored one goal every two games played. With Rayados he won three titles: the Copa MX in 2017, the Apertura championship in 2019 and the Concachampions in 2019.
Tonight, for the week 16 of the Liga MX, Rayados de Monterrey will host Cruz Azul at the BBVA Bancomer Stadium at 9 pm Monterrey time (11 pm in Washington DC). Rayados is in sixth position with 26 points, while the team coached by Robert Siboldi is second in the standings, with 29 points.
