The draw against Ireland left Portugal hope of qualifying for next year FIFA World Cup in Qatar hanging and their chance slimer. The Portuguese need at least draw in their next match or they bid farewell to Qatar.

Portugal were expected to run riot against Ireland but the team were able to hold the star studded Portugal to a draw at the Aviva stadium in Dublin to the amazement of football fan. The Cristiano Ronaldo side could only get a short on target in 90 min while Ireland had two.

This result put them in a very tight corner, even though they are top of the group but they were tight on same point. They risk taking the dangerous play-off route.

Their next match against Serbia will decide their fate, they need at least a draw but a win won't be bad to secure their Qatar ticket. Serbia is a worthy opponent with a quality team and they have shown they are worthy of a place in Qatar. Should the result go their favour, Portugal will have to take the play-off route to Qatar.
