The Mexican National Team will have a lot of activity in summer and for this reason, it has confirmed one more friendly match to prepare for the Gold Cup, as it will face its counterpart from Honduras in the United States in June. Through a statement, the Mexican National Team announced that on June 12 they will face off against Honduras at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, which will be held a few days after the final phase of the Concacaf Nations League.
In the span of two weeks, the Tricolor will have four commitments, since on May 20 they will face Iceland in an exhibition game, after June 3 they will collide with Costa Rica in the League of Nations, on 6 they will play the final or the duel for the third place of the competition and on the 6th he will face off with the Catrachos.
These games announced by the Mexican National Team will help them prepare for the Gold Cup, which will begin on July 10, where the national team arrives as the defending champion and will seek to obtain the two-time championship.
Mexico and Honduras have met on 37 occasions, in which the SNM has 23 victories, eight draws and six defeats. The most recent meeting was on October 10, 2017 in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match won by Honduras 3-2 in San Pedro Sula. Los Catrachos have qualified to three World Cups in their history, by 16 from Mexico.
The Mexican National Team will begin the MexTour 2021 against Iceland at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, on May 29. Tickets for the Dallas game are now available at www.MexTour.org. Additionally, at least three additional games are expected to be added to this year's tour, with rivals, dates and venues to be announced later.
