The competition is one of the most watched football competitions and it will feature global superstars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as well as American soccer players.

There are a record 12 Americans in this year's competition including last year winner Christian Pulisic, who won it with Chelsea FC of England, Zack Steffen (Manchester City), Tyler Adams (RB Leipzig), Gio Reyna (Borussia Dortmund), Weston McKennie (Juventus), Sergino Dest (FC Barcelona) amongst others.

Both Christian Pulisic and Sergino Dest will both miss out for Chelsea and Barcelona due to injuries. It will also feature the first American born coach, Jesse Marsch, who was appointed as RB Leipzig's manager after the departure of Julian Nagelsmann to Bayern Munich.
