German champions FC Bayern Munich got the better of FC Barcelona in the first match of Group of the 2021/21 UEFA Champions League season.

Bayern beat Barcelona 3-0 in front of less than 40,000 fans at Camp Nou with goals from Thomas Muller and two goals from FIFA Best Player Robert Lewandowski. The win puts Bayern Munich top of the group on three points and Barcelona bottom of the group.

Thomas Muller scored his seventh goal in six games against Barcelona with a first half strike while Robert Lewandowski added two more in the second half to wrap up the night where the Germans totally dominated Barcelona.

Barcelona were without a number of first team stars due to injuries, Sergio Aguero, Ansu Fati, Ousmane Demebele and Martin Braithwaite, which led the team to not producing a single shot on target all through 90 minutes. The result is fair considering the last time the two teams met, Bayern Munich won 8-2.
