Cruz Azul achieved a victory after three games in which they hadn't been able to scored any goals. With two goals from the Uruguayan Jonathan Rodriguez they defeated a poor Chivas de Guadalajara in Week 15 of the Guar1anes 2020 Liga MX. It is becoming more and more evident that 'La Maquina Cementera' depends on their star player, "Cabecita" Rodriguez.

But Rodriguez's great performance tonight had to do with the team's lineup. In previous games, coach Siboldi was reprimanded by the fans because they considered that the Uruguayan forward was very isolated on the attack and that he needed more company. The coach listened to the critics and paid took action according to them.

In the starting line up of tonight's game he delayed Jonathan Rodriguez a couple of meters on the field and put the Argentinian forward Milton Caraglio as center-forward. This allowed Rodriguez to reach the rival's area with more freedom since Caraglio was the one who fought against the center-backs of Chivas. In previous games, when Rodriguez played alone in attack, he was the one who had to do all the work.

With this victory, La Maquina Cementera reached 29 points and is in second position on Liga MX, 7 points behind the leader Leon, and has surpassed Tigres in the standing spots that qualify directly to Quarter Finals. Tomorrow, Pumas UNAM will visit Pachuca and if they win, they will surpass Cruz Azul by one point. But if they doesn't win, Leon will already secure the first place with two weeks to go before the end of the regular season.
