Brenden Aaronson, recently called up by the USMNT is wanted by a Premier League team and a Bundesliga team, so Marcelo Bielsa's squad has competition to see who gets the player.

Although the news that Leeds United wants to keep the young player born in Medford, New Jersey, has been going around for a few days now, it turns out that the English team is not the only one that wants him.

The hunt for Aaronson has been joined by a German Bundesliga team that also has the edge over the Premier League side.

Which German Bundesliga team wants Aaronson?

That team is RasenBallsport Leipzig, which would also have an advantage over Marcelo Bielsa's side in trying to sign the USMNT international.

This advantage is because RB Leipzig is a "brother" team of RB Salzburg as both belong to Dietrich Mateschitz, the Austrian billionaire owner of Red Bull, so if they want to leave in this winter transfer window, the first option that Salzburg would have to offer Aaronson would be to his brother and Leipzig

Therefore, Bielsa's team would be left empty-handed if the young USMNT international decided to leave in this winter transfer window

The shocking thing about the situation is that according to The Athletic newspaper, Leeds United already made an offer for the player of 20 million dollars, which the Austrian team would have already reviewed and rejected

But what is the reason for the Austrian team's rejection of the Premier League team's offer?

Why did RB Salzburg not want to sell Aaronson to Leeds United?

As far as it is known, RB Salzburg has the firm intention to keep Aaronson in their ranks as he has become a very important player in their team and was part of the Austrian Bundesliga triumph for the squad managed by Matthias Jaissle.

If Salzburg is well known for anything, it is for growing its players and then selling them to European giants for much more than $20 million.

The club's method is to sign players at a very low price and then sell them for stratospheric amounts. It is a market model that, in addition to proving that it works, allows great players to make the leap.

And this process is probably the best option for Aaronson, who has not only just been called up by the USMNT but is also the reigning champion of the Austrian Bundesliga with his team.

The team has already stated that it intends to keep Aaronson with them until the end of the current season, so it would not be unusual for the player to leave the team, but after the end of the current season.

For the time being, the 21-year-old midfielder will see action with the USMNT when his national team takes on El Salvador on Thursday, January 27

The Stars and Stripes have had a scare-free World Cup Qualifying campaign and are now preparing to put the finishing touch to this process in which they have a big lead over the Mexican national team, formerly known as "El Gigante de CONCA" (The Giant of CONCACAF).
