Yesterday, the USMNT roster was released and the top players in the squad who tops de list were revealed. But, how many points must Berhalter earn to travel to Qatar in 2022?

Could the USMNT leave the Panamanian national team out of the Qatar 2022 World Cup?

The Stars and Stripes already have half a foot in the FIFA World Cup but the matches they will face will be far from easy, especially the first one.

This will be against the Mexican national soccer team, which, despite having had a terrible 2021, still represents a danger for the ticket to Qatar 2022

Publication of the USMNT roster: these players top the list

The list of USMNT players who will play in the final matches of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers has been announced and among those called up, Christian Pulisic and Gio Reyna tops the list

In addition to these two players, Ricardo Pepi, Brenden Aaronson, Kellyn Acosta, and Yunus Musah also head the list.

Here is the complete call-up list:

GOALKEEPERS: Ethan Horvath (Nottingham Forest/ENG; 7/0), Sean Johnson (New York City FC; 9/0), Zack Steffen (Manchester City/ENG; 26/0).

DEFENDERS: Reggie Cannon (Boavista/POR; 24/1), Sergiño Dest (Barcelona/ESP; 17/2), Aaron Long (New York Red Bulls; 21/3), Erik Palmer-Brown (Troyes/FRA; 2/0), Antonee Robinson (Fulham/ENG; 22/2), Miles Robinson (Atlanta United; 17/3), James Sands (Rangers/SCO; 7/0), DeAndre Yedlin (Inter Miami; 71/0), Walker Zimmerman (Nashville SC; 25/3).

MIDFIELDERS: Kellyn Acosta (LAFC; 48/2), Tyler Adams (RB Leipzig/GER; 24/1), Gianluca Busio (Venezia/ITA; 8/0), Luca de la Torre (Heracles/NED; 5/0), Yunus Musah (Valencia/ESP; 13/0), Cristian Roldan (Seattle Sounders; 31/0).

FORWARDS: Brenden Aaronson (Red Bull Salzburg/AUT; 18/5), Paul Arriola (FC Dallas; 43/8), Jesus Ferreira (FC Dallas; 7/2), Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders; 43/10), Jordan Pefok (Young Boys/SUI; 8/1), Ricardo Pepi (Augsburg/GER; 9/3), Christian Pulisic (Chelsea/ENG; 45/18), Gio Reyna (Borussia Dortmund; 9/4), Tim Weah (Lille/FRA; 20/2).

How many points does Berhalter need to travel to Qatar in 2022?

While there is no exact number of points that strictly indicates when a CONCACAF country has already qualified for Qatar 2022, it seems that the key is to surpass 21 points

Why 21 points? Because that is the number of points that can put a national team in the top 3 of the World Cup Qualifiers.

For example, that is the case of the United States and Mexico, which are tied at 21 points in the qualification, and Canada, which has already surpassed 25 points.

Therefore, Greg Berhalter needs to win at least 9 more points, that is, win 3 of his next matches to secure his pass and distance himself as far as possible from the Mexican national soccer team.
