Gio Reyna, who has had a difficult season marked by injuries, was able to arrive fit for the CONCACAF qualifiers, having returned to the field a week earlier with the German team.

Gregg Berhalter knows of the young player's abilities and is likely to lead the attack alongside Christian Pulisic for the match against Gerardo Martino's squad.

After the RB Salzburg youngster dropped out of the squad at the last minute, Gio Reyna becomes the main player to take over the position of the Austrian-based striker.

"We know they are one of the strongest teams and it will not be an easy game, but scoring in this game would be special, as it was special, it was the first time I did it, but right now I am not really thinking that I need to score because we are playing against Mexico, I will just do my game to be able to score, assist, try to get anything to help the team as much as possible, and if I manage to score it will be great, if I assist also, but if we win it will also be great," Gio Reyna said during the week.

Reyna also ruled out Mexico City's altitude as an issue of concern because it will affect both teams equally.
