Marco Etcheverry, Clint Dempsey, Hope Solo, and more legends will be inducted into the 2022 National Soccer Hall of Fame for their contributions to the development of the sport in the United States.

In total, the class of 2022 has six legends among them Shannon Boxx and Linda Hamilton, figures who have done their country proud on countless occasions.

The recognition ceremony will be held next Saturday, May 21, and below is the complete list of the future class of 2022 inductees.

Shannon Boxx

The midfielder who made 195 appearances for the U.S. Women's National Team from 2003-2015, was a member of her national team, winning gold at the 2004 Olympics, the 2008 Olympics, and the 2012 Olympics.

But in addition, the athlete also won a World Cup and was twice selected for the Best XI of the postseason.

The player is a pioneer in U.S. soccer as she played in the first three seasons of the National Women's Soccer League.

Clint Dempsey

The former captain of the Stars and Stripes was also one of the best goal scorers in the history of the U.S. national team.

Dempsey played 141 games for the USMNT and nine seasons in MLS, where he was twice selected to the Best XI. 

He is the only player who, until his retirement, had tied Landon Donovan as the all-time leading domestic goal scorer with 57 international goals.

He played in three World Cups, one Confederations Cup, one Copa América, and four CONCACAF Gold Cups.

Hope Solo

Solo was the goalkeeper for the USWNT in 202 international matches between 2000 and 2016 and was instrumental in helping her national team win two Olympic gold medals and a women's world championship. 

She also won the Golden Glove as the most outstanding goalkeeper at the 2011 and 2015 Women's World Cups. 

Marco Etcheverry

Etcheverry is a DC United historian as he played eight seasons in Major League Soccer between 1996 and 2003, all with the Men in Black, and on four occasions was selected to the Best XI, in addition to being an MLS champion and league Most Valuable Player in 1998. 

The legendary player was born in Bolivia but developed his career in the United States. 

Linda Hamilton

The American defender played 71 full international matches for the USWNT between 1987 and 1995, and was one of the main defenders of the U.S. team that won the first Women's World Cup in 1991, and played in the 1995 World Cup tournament.

Esse Baharmast

The ceremony will also recognize the contributions of referees, and Baharmast has been one of the most important contributors to the consolidation of soccer in the United States. 

Baharmast was a FIFA international referee for six years and officiated two matches at the 1998 World Cup, three at the 1996 Olympic Games, one at the 1997 Copa America, and five at the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 1996 and 1998. 

Also a former MLS and MISL referee, he was director of officials for the U.S. Soccer Federation for 11 years.
