Strong rumors in the Spanish press have reported that Barcelona wants Christian Pulisic as a reinforcement and will look to Chelsea to acquire the player, and thus strengthen their flanks.

The rumor has gained notoriety as although he recently managed to recover from an ankle injury, the Stars and Stripes player is not at ease with the Premier League side.

Pulisic has not been able to find a place as a starter in the eleven of the team led by Thomas Tuchel, which is now ranked third in its competition.

It is rumored that the UMSNT international player is well regarded as a reinforcement for Xavi's team for the second half of the current season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are targeting Pulisic, Rudiger and Azpilicueta to refresh their squad.

The striker, born in Hershey, Pennsylvania in the United States, suffered an ankle injury that robbed him of the opportunity to play a leading role in the first half of the season.

The player has wanted to return to the first team but the problem is that the competition, as in any Premer League team, is very tight.

Ahead of him he has Hudson Odoi, Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Zitech. It is because of this level of competition and the lack of opportunities that the American is sounding strong for Barcelona.

Pulisic and his drama with Chelsea

When Chelsea bought the American player in 2019, everything seemed to be going very well. The signing of the USMNT player was a complete success.

And that is because Chelsea bought Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund for the impressive sum of €50 million.

In his early days with the Blues, Pulisic played a leading role in the squad led by Frank Lampard, but when the English coach left the team, everything changed for the striker.

First came injuries, five of which cut short his chance to fight for a starting spot in the team.

And as soon as he arrived in London, one more was added in September 2021, when the CONCACAF qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar were being played.

"He was about to resume training last week, but he picked up the injury. He has some pains, although nothing serious," Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said

The tactician commented at the time. "He is very impatient. He is doing everything he can, we see what he is suffering," he added.

Injuries that have benched the U.S. No. 10

The soccer player also had injuries at Borussia Dortmund, however the most serious of them only sent him to the bench for 20 days.

His injuries at Chelsea, on the other hand, have been not only more serious, but have caused the player to be out of action for up to 156 days, a period in which he had to recover from an adductor injury.

The second most serious injury, his thigh injury, kept him off the field for 63 days. And the most recent, the ankle injury, has kept him inactive for 52 days.

A pity for the player who has managed to score 13 goals in the Bundesliga with his previous team, Borussia Dortmund, and 15 goals in the Premier League with his current team.
