The economy of FC Barcelona was revealed yesterday as never before. Ferran Reverter explained in more than an hour and a half the difficulties that the club has to make ends meet, pay its workers and assume costs such as opening its field. It is precisely the latter that has greatly concerned the Culés, since the numbers do not give us to think that Espai Barça is far from cheap.

1,300 million in debt, credits that appear out of nowhere, transfers impossible to pay and a minimum margin of action. This is the economy of a club that in the best years of its history was in charge of dynamiting the chance of being self-sufficient for decades thanks to the management of a board that led by Bartomeu put Barcelona in the well. Reverter confessed that the numbers delivered by the former president around Espai Barça are far from reality.

It shoul be remembered that one of the most important points of the last election was the project to renovate the Camp Nou, the sports city and various facilities. Laporta warned of his desire to comply with all this, although he dropped that the 1000 million budget delivered by Bartomeu did not fit with his accounts.

The partners voted and although they understand the difficulty of facing the project, the plan to reform the Camp Nou in Barcelona will be one of the main issues that Joan Laporta will have to face when he ends his term as president in a few years. The most ambitious Espai Barça is far from being viable for the club.
