Since last Wednesday the information that was handled from the Camp Nou is that Pedri had everything ready to renew. The Barcelona board decided to focus all its efforts so that both the midfielder and Ansu Fati stamp their signature and extend their link with the institution. This Tuesday it became official and the man from Tenerife will continue at the club.

The Barça team published this Thursday the confirmation of the renewal of the former Las Palmas. At just 18 years old, he will have a contract until June 2026. In addition, the club has placed a historic termination clause on him: it goes from 400 million euros to 1000 million.

So far, the highest figures in the termination clause had been players such as Antoine Griezmann, currently on loan at Atlético de Madrid, who had an option to exit the Catalan team amounting to 800 million. Lionel Messi, for his part, never had high classifications, despite being the most important footballer in the club's history. In fact, in numerical terms, this one from Pedri, triples what the Argentine once had playing in Spain.

Barcelona has rushed to expand its file that ended in June 2022, although the Catalan institution kept a unilateral option for its continuity for two more seasons. But his great performances have motivated the club to make a new document.
