FC Barcelona is now facing the start of a new era. The time of Josep María Bartomeu as a president may be ending soon, as well as Lionel Messi's life at the club after reporting that he wanted to leave and probably will be doing so after his contract reaches and end.

But despite all changes, the club is thinking forwards and wants to make huge Nou Camp even bigger. The club made a deal with Goldman Sachs on Monday in order to modernize the stadium and to raise the capacity from 99,00 spectators to 105,000. Some other changes, including new technology in the grandstand may be also included.

The real problem for the club right now is the economic crisis that they are going through. Not only soccer is a complicated subject but also the financial process. During the COVID-19 pandemic Barcelona lost $95 million and his debt raised to $450 million.

The club was clearly harmed by the lack of games and the absence of tourists, who travel massively every year in order to watch Messi's team play. With this panorama, the club is debating whether to start the works or to wait to solve its financial problems. June 2021 seems to bet, for now, the date marked to start the renewal.
