FC Barcelona is doing a great business in the United States not only in terms of marketing but also with the creation of new players. FC Barcelona currently has the United States as one of the most important markets for its club. Between the sales of jerseys, the television subscription and the Barcelona Academy are making millionaire profits.
The recent arrival of Dest in Barcelona increased the sale of t-shirts by almost 100%. Dest and Barcelona fans want to have their idol's new jersey. Besides Dest, Konrad de la Fuente is the other American who plays for Barcelona. It is important for the US market to have players who play for the USMNT.
Future stars of the USMNT have recently emerged who were trained at the Barcelona Academy in the United States. Some of them are already in Europe or are close to going there. The most recent case is that of Caden Clark from RDNY or Julian Araujo from LA Galaxy. Although this does not give Barcelona direct money, it does give prestige to its academy and future revenues.
Lately the Barcelona club is thinking of creating a franchise for the MLS. Just like David Beckham did with Inter Miami or Manchester City. MLS believes that a Barcelona club franchise would be ideal for competition. Barcelona's business in the United States seems to have no ceiling and is becoming more and more important.
