What is the Rooney Series on Amazon about?

The story tells the personal and professional life of the former English player. The story is marked by a violent environment, from his father's mistreatment to his childhood in Croxteth, a suburb of Liverpool that on more than one occasion made the British front pages for its relationship with drugs, weapons, and crime.

"I was raised to fight...fight for everything. That will never leave me. I grew up in Croxteth. If you're from there, you don't think it's a violent place.... I've had a lot of arguments with my father and he even slapped me. I wasn't the nicest kid. I had a lot of fights when I was younger," Rooney said in a teaser for the documentary.

The documentary series also shows how Wayne Rooney overcame the odds to triumph in the English league with Manchester United, to the point of becoming a legend. During the story, you can see some interviews with David Beckham, Thierry Henry, and Gary Neville.

"I would lock myself in and drink. Locking myself away made me forget some of the problems I was dealing with. It was like a stalemate, I had a couple of days off and I didn't want to be around anyone. I would sit at home and for two days, I would just drink. I was in a really bad situation."  Wayne stated when he had days off.
