Pep Guardiola has a nice problem this season with Jack Grealish. The English winger has received strong competition from Jeremy Doku, and with the conversion of Julian Alvarez. Grealish seems to be relegated to the background this season and for this reason, Pep Guardiola is already sending a strong message to the English footballer if he wants to regain his position.

“I want Jack Grealish angry, Jeremy Doku to be angry after he didn't play the last two games. This is the way, to maintain consistency at that level. “Both can play at the same time, but they need to prove it,” said the Spanish coach after being asked what Pep Guardiola expected about his performance this season. At the moment, Jeremy Doku is beginning to be the priority for Pep Guardiola and there is little doubt about it.

Regarding Doku, Rodri has also spoken about it, because he is an extremely unbalanced footballer and he can play on both wings. "Now we have a player with this ability that in the last years we didn't really have. Maybe when Raz [Sterling] was here or Leroy Sane, this kind of player, these fast players on the side. He's a happy boy and I'm very proud of him. It's not normal. We are quite surprised. He has evolved into the way we play..."

Pep Guardiola's feelings at this start

"It's not so much important, after 11 fixtures, to be top of the Premier League table. At least we are there. What pleased me the most is the fact that after where we came from still we have in training, meetings, approach to games, everybody is there...". It has been a difficult start to the season for Manchester City, but despite the injuries and the number of new players, the club is already beginning to regain its rhythm, and its level is worrying given the great framework for improvement they have. It should not be a surprise if Manchester City repeats the UEFA Champions League.
