West Ham United is having one of their best campaigns in the recent years and that could translate in a spot for the Champions League next season, as they currently stand fifth in the Premier League. But in order to achieve it, first they need to strengthen their defense.

With Angelo Ogbonna out for the remainder of the season and Aaron Cresswell dealing with a back injury, the Hammers have set their eyes on French soccer, as they’re trying to acquire PSG defender Abdou Diallo.
The 25-year-old center back can also play as a left-back, a spot David Moyes could use a hand. PSG is set to ask $23 million to sell the economic rights of the defender, but the London team would prefer a short loan first, and if the Senegalese addition is a success, could potentially think of a permanent move in the summer.

PSG has also is negotiating the transfer of Diallo with Serie A Milan AC, but the Italian side is not interested in a permanent move, as they’re only looking to add him on a six-month loan. Abdou Diallo is currently playing Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal National Team, meaning he could miss the remainder of January.
