As reported by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur has closed the signing of Clement Lenglet on loan from FC Barcelona, who did not count on the Frenchman for next season due to the arrival of Andreas Christensen and the intention to sign other defenders.

During the negotiations to address the signing of Clément Lenglet, Tottenham have asked about the situation of Memphis Depay. The Dutchman wishes to remain linked to FC Barcelona, but is already aware that the club has placed him on the exit ramp.

FC Barcelona is trying to expedite the operation of his departure. Aware that their chances of strengthening the squad depend on making room and reducing the wage bill, the board is trying to find a place for all those players who, for one reason or another, do not fit into their plans for the future.

Memphis Depay is on that list of discards. Although the striker wants to fulfill his contract, the club has already made it clear that, as he is currently a player with a rather secondary role in Xavi Hernandez's plans, it will try to close his sale this summer.

The Premier League, on the lookout

Fortunately for the Culés, several teams have begun to take an interest in his signing. Among them, Tottenham. According to Sport, during negotiations with the azulgrana directive to close the loan of Clement Lenglet, the London team has already asked about the striker.

For Depay, Spurs could be an ideal destination, as they offer him the opportunity to compete for a privileged place in the Premier League and to play in the Champions League. On the way or form in which the operation could be completed, there are no details.
