Manchester United could leave Real Madrid without the services of Serge Gnabry

As reported by the director of Diario Sport in Directo Gol, Frenkie de Jong has a clause in his contract with FC Barcelona that will increase his salary to 25 million euros net as salary, Josep Bartomeu is the person responsible for offering him such an increased contract. The Dutchman would go on to earn that figure next season, which has complicated his departure to Manchester United.

Nevertheless the ‘Red Devils’ have reached an agreement with FC Barcelona for the transfer of de Jong, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, with only certain details in the variables to be settled. The operation will be closed at a total of 85 million euros.

The problem is that Frenkie de Jong does not want to leave the Camp Nou in this summer transfer market, so his departure is increasingly complicated despite the fact that both clubs are close to finalizing the agreement officially. The move is reaching a stalemate, although there is still a long way to go before it can be finalized. His contract expires in the summer of 2026.

Can United match the salary in his Barcelona contract

According to reports, Manchester United cannot pay the Dutch midfielder such a contract, so it may be very complicated for them to reach an agreement with the player. This puts the move on hold, adding to United’s frustrations.
