West Ham faced this Sunday a key match to keep dreaming about the Champions League. It was because of the rival, Wolverhampton, who came eighth, just two points behind the Hammers, and because of Manchester United's draw against Watford on Saturday.

The home side dominated in a first half that, however, ended goallessly. This came as no surprise to the visitors, who usually base their chances on close games with few goals. They score little but concede even less. However, Tomas Soucek upset Wolves' plan in the second half.

In the second half, Soucek appeared to give the win

The second half was more lively, with West Ham finding the winning goal. Michail Antonio, who continues to earn the title of London Olympic hero, broke into the box on the left and offered the goal on a silver platter to the Czech.

Soucek had to stretch his leg with little space or time to make the score 1-0. The visitors reacted, with very little in attack until then, and West Ham also had chances on the counterattack, but the points stayed at home.

After this victory, David Moyes' side are fifth with 45 points. Two points behind them are Manchester United with 47, although Arsenal, sixth with 45, still have three games in hand. Wolves, meanwhile, remain in eighth place with 40 points.
