A U.S. court dismissed an alleged rape lawsuit against soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo filed more than a decade ago by former model Kathryn Mayorga, according to court documents.
Mayorga accused the United player in 2009 of sexually assaulting her in a Las Vegas hotel room.
The Nevada city court's decision, dated June 10, followed the recommendations of Judge Daniel Albregts, who last October had recommended dismissing the case.
"It is recommended that Ronaldo's motion to terminate the sanctions case be granted. It is further recommended that Mayorga's action be dismissed with prejudice," the judge said at the time.
The accusation was made against the Portuguese over a decade ago and Mayorga's claims were settled out of court 13 years ago, after she received almost €500,000 from the striker, then with Real Madrid.
However, in 2018, the former model began proceedings to annul her initial agreement, arguing that it was signed under duress, but without providing any legal arguments.
Mayorga's new claims were categorically denied by CR7 when he presented his defense before a Las Vegas court, where the complainant was seeking a new compensation of €73 million in damages and costs.
