Thus, Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club is already in the fight for the ticket to European competitions, and depending on what happens from here on, they could play in the UEFA Champions League

The goal with which Raul Jimenez's Wolves beat Everton

The match was played at Goodison Park, in a visit of Bruno Lage's club, which ended up further damaging Frank Lampard's Toffees, who are still struggling to cope with the consequences of Rafa Benitez's disastrous management.

The match was hard fought and from the start Everton wanted to win it, so in the first time José Sá had to make a great save to stop a shot from Demarai Gray, who after making space inside the area, sent a quick low shot into the bottom right corner.

However, Wolves were not going to stand by and watch as their goal was attacked and in the 37th minute Leander Dendoncker sent a pass into the box, but the ball was intercepted and cleared.

The actions continued in a similar fashion until the second half, when in the 49th minute of the match Conor Coady scored with a shot after a brilliant team play, to make it 0-1.

The Mexican wolve also tried to score with a shot in the 56th minute when he received a precise cross into the box, but his shot went wide of the right post.

However, he did contribute something valuable to his team as he caused Jonjoe Kenny to foul him, for which the referee gave him the second yellow card of the match and he had to go to the dressing room, so Wolves were able to take better care of the result of the match.

Jimenez started the match and was not substituted by Fabio Silva until the 90th minute of the match, but his contribution to the club's game had already been made.

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC moves closer to the UEFA Champions League

With today's result, Wolves have moved closer to the UEFA Champions League by joining the top 7 Premier League teams.

It is worth remembering that the English teams that reach this top and remain there until the end of the competition are the ones that earn their ticket to the European competitions.

The top 4 places in the overall table qualify for the UEFA Champions League, while the 5th and 6th places in the competition earn their ticket to the Europe League.

And for the 7th place in the competition there is a place in the new European Conference League, so if Wolves remain in 7th place in the table, they could play there.

But if they improve their performance and reach the top 4, they will hear the UEFA Champions League anthem from the pitch.
