Rafa Benitez doesn’t want him and now Aston Villa could be his new team
Villan's coach Steven Gerrard personally requested his addition.
The French international hasn’t had the best relationship with his coach, Rafa Benitez, on the last year, and he now could be on the move as teams are gathering interest in the left-back, especially Aston Villa, who wants to acquire the player after Gerrard personally requested him.
He joined Everton back in 2018 and is under contract with the Toffees until 2025, but his problems with Benitez might help quicken his departure from Goodison Park. So far this season, he’s played 14 games, but was left out of the squad for six games and has seen another one from the bench, most of them in the past month.
Everton could consider selling the player to avoid further problems with the Spanish coach, and seeing Steven Gerrard’s interest, they could accept an offer from Aston Villa for around $40 million, a figure that the Villans might be willing to pay to have their second signing, alongside Coutinho’s.

Not the only team interested in Digne
Newly multimillionaire Newcastle United are also interested in acquiring the French left-back to join Kieran Trippier on the defensive side of their team, as part of a mid-season rebuilding in hopes of avoiding relegation this season.
