The bad news keeps coming for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and today it was announced that he has a heart lesion, so the CAF has decided not to allow him to play with the Gabon national team in the AFCON

This is the latest bad news for the player as he tested positive for COVID-19 and was unable to play in the 1-0 opening win over Comoros.

But the problem he faces now is a very serious one as it concerns his physical health and the authorities in charge of monitoring this aspect in the Africa Cup of Nations have been blunt about it.

Aubameyang with heart lesion

According to the information released, the CAF, in its African section did not allow him to participate in Gabon's match against Ghana because of a more serious problem than the COVID-19, which he would have already overcome.

"According to the CAF medical commission, the players Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Axel Meyé and Mario Lemina have just passed the COVID-19 but will not be able to play this match. The tests would show cardiac injuries and CAF does not want to take any risk".

This information was released by the Gabonese Football Federation (FEGAFOOT), but no further details were provided.

The issue is very serious because if the information is corroborated, "Auba" as well as Meyé and Lemina would have to take precautions about their state of health and whether it will allow them to continue being professional soccer players.

 Is Aubameyang vaccinated?

What is known is that at Arsenal, the team where Aubameyang currently plays, there are players who refuse to be vaccinated or who refuse to take the booster shot.

And because the team respects the decisions of its players, it has not been disclosed which players are vaccinated and which are not, and it is strongly suspected that Aubameyang may not be vaccinated

The player himself has not stated anything about it, raising the idea that he has not received his COVID-19 immunization.

The bad news doesn't stop, but neither does Aubameyang's bad behavior

The player has just had a disciplinary problem with Mikel Arteta, his coach at Arsenal who took away his captain's armband due to a delay by the player

And his participation in the Africa Cup has not been without controversy either as he was filmed at a party with other Gabon international players

So it seems not to be a good season for the player, but it is he who has not been out of trouble either because of his attitude or his reluctance to get vaccinated against COVID-19

We will have to keep an eye on the information provided by the African soccer authorities on the subject, as heart injuries are a serious issue.

Heart injuries have affected a number of soccer players recently

Just recently Sergio "Kun" Agaüero had to end his successful soccer career due to a heart problem

Another player recently affected by heart disease was Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich.

The player was diagnosed with myocarditis, which will keep him off the field for an indefinite period.

Could this be the same fate for Aubameyang and his Gabon teammates?

Only time will tell the truth.
