Newcastle continues to hold firm, Aston Villa beat Southampton, and Eriksen's Brentford win
Newcastle continues a positive streak and Coutinho still enjoying playing soccer with Aston Villa.
In Saturday's Premier League afternoon matchday, Newcastle United picked up another win, this one against Brighton & Hove Albion, to settle in the quiet zone of the table. In addition, Aston Villa thrashed Southampton 4-0, and Eriksen's Brentford beat Norwich City.

Newcastle the winner at the bottom of the table
With Leeds United losing on Jesse Marsch's debut day and Chelsea overcoming Burnley, Newcastle emerged as the big winner of Saturday's Premier League matchday. The Magpies, with Trippier still out, defeated Brighton & Hove Albion and remained firmly out of the relegation zone.
Eriksen made his debut as a starter
In addition, Brentford, with Christian Eriksen starting, defeated bottom-placed Norwich City 1-3. The Dane played an active role in the three points with remarkable performance and the pass that led to the first of his team's goals.
