Newcastle United already signed a forward during the current transfer window, Chris Wood from Burnley FC, but they’re not done rebuilding the team, as they are still looking to add another forward. They already offered $34.1 million for Atalanta Bergamasa Calcio’s striker Duván Zapata.

Money is no problem for the Magpies, as they recently became Premier League’s richest team, but they’re currently on a tight spot, as they’re not one of England’s top teams and players are having second thoughts, as they currently aren’t racing for the title, rather than avoiding relegation.
The 30-year-old Colombian doesn’t see with bad eyes a move to St. James Park, and Atalanta is willing to let him go if the offer is right, as they currently value their top scorer at $51.2 million, a figure that’s far from Newcastle’s first offer.

The Colombian striker joined Atalanta back in 2018 out of UC Sampdoria in a two-year paid loan after which he joined the Nerazzurri on a permanent move in 2020 worth $13.7 million. So far, he’s played a total of 152 games for La Dea, scoring 78 goals and assisting 38 times.
