It seems that Newcastle has decided to strengthen their squad with players of their relegation rival, Burnley FC, as earlier this month they paid the release clause of former Clarets’ striker Chris Wood and now are after center back James Tarkowski.

Tarkowski has 6 months left on his contract, which could mean the last opportunity for Burnley to sell him instead of letting him walk out for free at the end of the season, although they’ll have to receive a sizeable offer if they’re sending him to St. James Park.
