The 30-year-old, returned to football with Premier League side Brentford at the end of February, eight months after his cardiac arrest in the middle of a Euro 2020 match.

David Ornstein, journalist for 'The Athletic', gives the exclusive on the signing of the Danish midfielder by the 'Red Devils', who arrives as a free agent and will sign for three seasons, although he will undergo a medical beforehand.

As for the figures, Eriksen's contract with the Old Trafford club will be for a rather lucrative salary, very close to the 9 million euros he earned at Inter Milan years ago, and he will sign until June 2025.

With the 'Bees', and playing with a defibrillator implanted in his chest, Eriksen managed to complete eleven games and score one goal, which he scored against Chelsea. In addition, he has been able to play again with his national team and confirmed that his physical condition is not a liability.

Ajax DNA in his veins

Just a few months ago, Eriksen trained with Ten Hag's Ajax as he looked to get back to fitness and define his future. And that is where he met and made good 'friends' with the man who will be his new coach at United.

In fact, the Dutch club had considered re-signing the player who left them for Tottenham in 2013, although there were fears about his ability to perform at the highest level again due to his medical condition. All those fears have now been laid to rest.
