Manchester City has always been known for buying players from other teams in stratospheric amounts since the City Football group acquired the Sky Blues. And that was the case with Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland, who both arrived at extravagant prices, however, according to the current situation, the Norwegian came at a bargain compared to the Englishman.

Changes at Wolves, Raúl Jimenez would leave the team for this reason

In the current season, the former Aston Villa player arrived for 117 million euros, a huge amount, which became the most expensive in the history of the Citizens, surpassing the 76 million of Kevin de Bruyne who arrived from Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. The difference between the Sky Blues' most expensive player and the runner-up is 40 million, which perfectly gets you up for another quality player.

Now, Haaland arrived for just €60 million, a bargain compared to the price tag for players of the Norwegian quality. Although it is a large amount, when compared to other players, it falls short. The player who will arrive from Borussia Dortmund entered the top 10 of City's most expensive players, but he is in 9th place, below players like those already mentioned and also Dias, Mahrez, Cancelo, Laporte, Sterling, and Rodri.

Why did Haaland come so cheap?

The English club will pay before June 30 the €60 million of the termination clause that tied him to Dortmund, with whom Haaland was under contract until mid-2023. A meager figure considering that the experts of the transfer market were talking about €150 million as the sale value of the striker.

Practically, what allowed Haaland's departure at that price was the termination clause that was set at 60 million euros, a situation that benefited the Sky Blues to pay that figure and not what the Norwegian was estimated to be worth according to experts in the transfer market.

Grealish disappointed in the current season

The Englishman arrived as the bomb signing for Guardiola and Manchester City this season and given his cost, more was expected of the player but during the season he has had discreet numbers that make him look like one of the signings that disappointed this season.

Grealish played 48 games in all competitions with the Citizens, including Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Champions League, and was able to score on 10 occasions and assist on 10.
