The winter transfer window just started and top teams are trying to find the next gem hidden in lower divisions, as these kinds of players only mean one thing: low investment, huge profit. And that’s exactly what Liverpool and Real Madrid are doing this year.

At first only Liverpool had taken interest in Portuguese offensive midfielder Fabio Carvalho, but reports suggest that they were going to wait until his contract expired with Fulham FC, a team that currently plays in Tier III English league, at the end of the season.

But now Real Madrid has entered the conversations, and according to Fulham’s coach, Marco Silva, they’ve started negotiations with the player and his agent, although they haven’t reached an agreement yet and haven’t said a thing to Fulham of his intentions of leaving the club this transfer window.

Who is Fabio Carvalho?

Born in Torres Vedras, Portugal, he’s played his professional career in England, as he also has an English passport and even has played for the Academy teams of the English National Team. He joined Fulham senior team this season and according to Transfermarkt his current market value is around $4 million.
