The Gunners are looking to add goals to their attack as their current options, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, have not had the best of seasons. Arsenal's biggest problem has been converting chances and Mikel Arteta believes signing a new striker can solve that problem.

Arsenal are considering signing Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in January, according to The Daily Star. Arteta is willing to sell Nketiah this month to fund a move for Solanke or Ivan Toney from Brentford. Arsenal could sell Nketiah for around £30m as the Gunners look to balance the FFP books.

Solanke has now scored 12 goals for the Cherries and seems to have finally found his place at the highest level. Not only are Arsenal looking to target him, but arch-rivals Tottenham are also tracking him. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry had some words of praise for the Bournemouth striker:

“Dominic Solanke, the way he plays at Bournemouth. Not only him, the team is doing very well, but we were waiting for him to be that player. I guess he was too much when he was younger. But what he is doing now is brilliant. I'm happy for him because he fought a little bit. He looks good now,” Henry said.

Arsenal's failure

Arsenal's exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Liverpool further demonstrated how much the Gunners need a new addition in attack. They managed to create chances and should have been two or three goals up, but at one point failed to score once again as their scoring drought continues.
