Liverpool FC failed to close its participation in the next UEFA Champions League after finishing out of the Top 4 in the Premier League. This result has direct consequences for the team, which will have to restructure its ranks in order to establish itself in the best possible way for the next campaign. And with it, the future of a player who came to be considered as a key player is already decided.

After the departure of Roberto Firmino, James Milner and possibly Naby Keita, the club is ready to give exit to a fourth element for next season. It is precisely a midfield player who will not have his contract renewed and will leave the club when it expires.

It is precisely Thiago Alcántara. As the 2023/24 season approaches, Thiago faces uncertainty about his future at Anfield. Although he remains a valuable player for Klopp when fit, injuries have raised doubts about his ability to stay fit consistently.

Liverpool have decided not to offer Thiago a new contract for the time being, leaving the player in a challenging position as he prepares to face a crucial season in his career. Klopp fielded Thiago in just 28 of Liverpool's 52 games across all competitions.

What does Klopp think of Thiago?

Despite Thiago's physical problems, Klopp believes that the player remains an important part of the team's plans when fully fit. However, Liverpool seem willing to take the risk of losing him in 2024 without getting any financial compensation for his transfer.
