Despite a promising draw in Turkey on Thursday, Manchester United suffered another setback today, losing 2-1 to West Ham United at London Stadium in the Premier League. Currently sitting in 24th place with 11 points from nine games, the Red Devils face a critical stretch as they prepare for four consecutive home matches before the November international break.
With the upcoming home fixtures in mind, manager Erik ten Hag reaffirmed his commitment to the team, drawing a parallel to last season’s slow start, when Manchester United also struggled but eventually turned their season around. "Last year wasn’t so different, but we turned things around in the end, and we want this year to be the same," ten Hag stated today in London. "If we can keep playing like we did against Brentford, Fenerbahçe, and West Ham, I believe we’ll get there.”
Expressing confidence in his squad, ten Hag emphasized the importance of trust over correction. "This isn’t about fixing the players, it’s about believing in them ahead of the next game. I believe each one is capable of doing well, which is why I always push them to keep going. In the end, we’ll win more matches," the coach added confidently.
Manchester United will return to action on Wednesday, October 30, at 19:45 GMT, when they host Leicester City at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup’s fourth round. Following that match, United will face Chelsea (Premier League), PAOK (Europa League), and another Premier League fixture against Leicester City, all at home, before the third international break of the season.
