Rúben Amorim, the newly appointed manager of Manchester United, has swiftly moved to reshape the squad by placing seven players on the transfer list. The Portuguese coach has identified a number of players who he believes do not fit into his plans for the future.
Among the players facing uncertain futures are four whose contracts are set to expire: defenders Harry Maguire (31), Jonny Evans (36), and Victor Lindelof (30), as well as midfielder Christian Eriksen (32). Amorim believes these players have passed their peak and that it would be best to let them leave the club.
Furthermore, the former Sporting CP manager is also keen to offload Brazilian midfielder Casemiro (32), Dutch left-back Tyrell Malacia (25), and Brazilian forward Antony (23). The club could look to cash in on these players to fund new signings.
The decision to offload such a large number of players is not surprising, as Amorim seeks to implement his own style of play and build a team that is fully committed to his vision. By offloading these players, the club can create space for new arrivals and begin a new era under the Portuguese manager.
