Ninous Toma, the youth coach who worked with Marmoush during his formative years at Assyriska, has spoken out about the club's missed opportunity to retain the talented Egyptian forward. "When Marmoush was just 16, he came to trial with us," Toma recalls. "We saw the potential immediately, but due to regulations, we couldn't sign players under 18. After that, it was difficult to keep him."

Despite his young age, Marmoush quickly impressed with his talent and maturity. "He was always grounded, even when he was playing for the Egyptian youth national team," Toma said. "He was a quiet, pleasant young man who spoke excellent English. He was eager to learn and become a professional footballer."

Toma also shared a heartwarming anecdote about Marmoush's initial struggles adapting to life in Sweden. "He called his father on the first day, wanting to come home. His father told him to give it a chance. The next day, after his first training session, he called his father again and said everything was fine. He was already showing his class then."

Describing Marmoush's playing style, Toma said, "He was a quick player with great dribbling skills and a powerful shot. He also had excellent game intelligence and the right mentality. It's rare to find a player who possesses all those qualities."

Toma believes that Marmoush has remained largely unchanged since his days at Assyriska. "He's still the same humble and hard-working young man. For me, he's just grown up," he said.

While reflecting on the missed opportunity, Toma couldn't help but admit, "We could certainly use those €70 million right now!"
