Chelsea took the lead in the first half through Enzo Fernandez. Quansah, an own goal, extended the lead in the second, with Van Dijk pulling one back and, in the end, Cole Palmer scored the winning goal to give Chelsea a 3-1 home win, adding another three points in the Premier League!
Breaking into the box, Caicedo was brought down by Quansah (really one of those days) and won a penalty for Chelsea in the last minute. Cole Palmer hit the right corner, with Alisson still hitting the side, but not reaching the ball that confirmed the 3-1 victory for the Blues!
And before the goal, Jadon Sancho received a yellow card for complaining, precisely about the corner that led to the goal. Right after the goal, Cole Palmer received a pass from Madueke and shot from distance, into the left corner, but Alisson kept it without giving a rebound!
On the right, Liverpool had another corner, taken into the area by Mac Allister for Van Dijk to bend down and head powerfully into the left corner, reducing the score and putting Liverpool back in the game, looking for an equalizer!
Cole Palmer, on a pass from Malo Gusto, risked a shot in the box and sent the ball over the goal, out. Shortly after that, Tsimikas came off for Chiesa for Liverpool, in yet another change in the game, which got lively at the end of the second half!
Chelsea changed again, with Romeo Lavia coming off and Malo Gusto coming on. Soon after, Jadon Sancho received a pass from Enzo Fernández and shot hard, but it was held by Alisson. And then Palmer shot hard and hit the crossbar, with the ball rebounding to Alisson!
Now it was Chelsea who made the change, with Nicolas Jackson coming off and Jadon Sancho coming on. Soon after, under pressure from Liverpool, Salah received Tsimikar's cross from a corner and headed hard, but to the left of the goal!
Darwin received Salah's cross and headed hard, but sent the ball wide to the right of the goal, just after Elliott's blocked shot. And soon after that, Liverpool made two more changes: Endo and Elliott were replaced by Szoboszlai and Mac Allister.
Nicolas Jackson received the pass up front and shot hard, but sent the ball into the middle of the goal, into Alisson's hands. Liverpool's response soon came with a corner, which was taken short for Tsimikas to cross and Van Dijk to head powerfully, but to the left of the goal!
Double change at Liverpool: Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota were replaced by Bradley and Darwin Núñez. And soon after, Quansah received a yellow card for a foul on Enzo Fernández in midfield (what a moment Quansah has in the game).
Cole Palmer got the ball in midfield, ran to the right, going to the byline, where he crossed into the confusion, with Madueke going for the ball, but Quansah deflected it into his own goal, increasing the score with an own goal!
Nicolas Jackson received a pass from Madueke and struck a powerful shot into the left corner, but Alisson palmed the ball away. Two yellow cards were issued shortly afterwards. The first for Van Dijk, for a foul on Lavia, and one for Chalobah, for a foul on Jones.
The players return to the pitch at Stamford Bridge and we have the start of the second half of the match between Chelsea and Liverpool, with all the highlights and emotions from the match of the 35th round of the Premier League here on VAVEL!
With just one minute of added time and little happening, the first half ended with the Blues beating the Reds 1-0 with a goal from Enzo Fernández early in the match, sealing Liverpool's title in this first 45 minutes!
Pedro Neto received Palmer's pass up front, controlled it and hit it hard, but sent the ball to the right of the goal. Chelsea continued to have possession, continued to dominate, but were unable to extend the lead at the end of the first half.
The game slowed down again, with Chelsea maintaining possession and dominating Liverpool, preventing their opponents from getting into the game, managing to press without any scares and controlling the partial 1-0 victory.
Cole Palmer shot hard, already in the area, even without an angle to shoot, with the ball deflecting and going out for a corner, passed into the area for Pedro Neto to shoot, for another corner, where Madueke appeared to finish, blocked by the defense.
Diogo Jota received the cross from Tsimikas and headed hard, but hit the defense and missed another chance to score. Soon after Endo found the pass for Alexander-Arnold, who shot hard, but was blocked by the defense.
The game, in this first half, has moments of good chances being created, with dangerous arrivals from both teams, at the same time as it goes through moments like now, where little happens on the pitch at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Fernández, from Pedro Neto's cross, practically repeating the play that led to the goal, headed the ball hard, but over the crossbar, sending the ball wide in yet another good move by the Blues in the match, trying to extend the score!
Gakpo, on a pass from Tsimikas, invaded the area and struck hard into the right corner, but Robert Sánchez saved Chelsea from conceding the equalizer, in Liverpool's first big chance of the match so far!
Madueke, on a pass from Palmer, received the ball and kicked hard, but to the right of the goal. The response came quickly, with Diogo Jota, on the counterattack, receiving the pass in front and kicking hard, but to the left of the goal!
And in the first play of the game, from a low cross made by Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernández controlled and shot low, into the left corner, with no chance for Alisson, opening the scoring early in the game for the home team!
After the Chelsea players' corridor, to applaud the Liverpool players for the title, the ball rolls at Stamford Bridge, which you can follow with all the moves and emotions in real time here on VAVEL!
Chelsea arrives in strong form, sitting fifth with 60 points after a 1-0 victory over Everton, courtesy of Nicolas Jackson’s goal. Under Enzo Maresca, the Blues have solidified their top-four push, boasting 54 goals scored and a robust defense conceding just 34 goals. Cole Palmer (12 goals, 8 assists), Jadon Sancho (6 goals), and Nicolas Jackson (10 goals) drive their attack, though injuries to Reece James (hamstring, doubtful) and Wesley Fofana (knee) test their backline. Chelsea’s 7W-2D-1L home record at Stamford Bridge, coupled with their 2-1 win over Liverpool in the 2023-24 season, fuels optimism. However, facing a rampant Liverpool side, fresh off a 2-1 Europa League semifinal win over Anderlecht, will demand their best, especially with a 60,000-strong crowd roaring.
