FC Cincinnati is making moves just before the transfer window closes for the MLS. Their last reinforcement is Croatian talent and Hoffenheim TSG home-grown talent Franko Kovacevic. They need goals and they need them fast. The Balcanian player may provide them, as he gets the minutes he need to earn Hoffenheim's confidence.

The clubs found agreement on last September. Kovacevic arrives to the United States on loan until June 2021. There's an option to extend the loan one more season. He's a versatile offensive player who can play both as striker or as winger. He's got the right pace and the right dribbles abilities to do so.

On the other hand, it must be said that the deal is, to say the least, strange. FCC brings in a player that still has to travel to the US¡. After that he will have to go through the mandatory self-quarantine time, which will take two more weeks with only six games left for Cincinnati. And it's not clear what June 2021 will mean for MLS's next season; will it be the start of the season or the middle of the regular season by then?

With this said, and if calendars plays in FCC side, Kovacevic could take part in at least two games. It seems difficult, but there could be more games if FCC makes it to playoffs. They are just above the bottom of the Eastern Conference, with a five points difference between them and Atlanta United, the last team that today is classifying to playoffs. With FCC having only scored eight games in the whole season, it seems more probable that Kovacevic ends up been the teams top scorer of the season (right now he would just needs three goals to achieve it) than FCC to make it to post season.
