The era of Gennaro Gattuso at Napoli seems to be near to its end. The Italian side suffered a very bad defeat, 3-1 against Hellas Verona, and now local media Corriere dello Sport assures that the sport advisers from the club are thinking on firing him and assure the arrival of a new manager.
Gattuso started his career as a manager at FC Sion Swiss side and then trained US Palermo, OFI Creta, AC Pisa, AC Milan and Napoli. After 56 matches, his team has won 32, lost 17 and tied 7. Napoli stands in the sixth position in Serie A, after earning 34 points on 18 games managed, and that is the reason why he could be kicked.
Hirving Lozano was a player with which Gattuso experienced some conflicts, but now the relationship was going through a good moment, as the player was having some impressive performances. So far this season, he scored 11 goals and gave four assists after just 26 matches played.
But Chucky may now have a new head coach at Napoli, as Gattuso is set to leave and his replacement would be the Spanish Rafa Benítez. The Italian press confirmed that the talks have already started and that Benítez could join soon. During his managerial career he passed through many clubs, as Real Madrid, Liverpool, Inter, Valencia, Chelsea and Napoli, as well, since 2013 to 2015.
