FC Barcelona is pursuing a new manager after Xavi confirmed leaving the club in the summer. Barca has until August to find a replacement for Xavi before the start of next season. Xavi is committed to his decision, and a Champions League or La Liga title won't change his mind.

Barcelona has been thinking of names in the past in case Xavi was sacked, but the decision of the Spanish manager to announce his departure has caught the Barca board by surprise. Mourinho is a rumor that could be possible since he was spotted at Barcelona days after being fired by AS Roma. Mourinho was an assistant coach at Barca from 1996 to 2000.

Bologna manager Thiago Motta reacted to the Xavi announcement and spoke about the Barca job

After Bologna's 2-2 draw against AC Milan at the San Siro in Serie A, Thiago Motta mentioned Xavi and his decision to leave Barca and was asked about the Barca job. Motta said, "I heard of Xavi leaving Barça; they told me this news some minutes ago. Barça links for the future? I live in the present. I’m enjoying my time at Bologna; I’m only focused on the present.” Motta currently has Bologna sitting 7th in the Serie A with 33 points and is only 3 points off a Champions League spot.
