Things got real ugly outside the RCDE Stadium in Cornellà-El Prat before the big derby match between Espanyol and FC Barcelona. A car reportedly plowed into a bunch of fans who were hanging around the stadium, leaving several people injured.

From the early reports, it sounds like this happened in an area where cars weren't supposed to be. Eyewitnesses are saying a white car just came outta nowhere and slammed into a group of supporters. Videos that are already all over social media show a total mess and confusion after the incident, with fans and cops swarming the vehicle. Apparently, the driver tried to bolt from the scene at high speed, hitting several people in the process. You can even see some poor soul up on the hood of the car in some of these videos.

The extent of the injuries is still kinda unclear, but some sources are saying there might be some serious ones in the mix. Even though initial reports were throwin' around the possibility of fatalities, the stadium announcer said the situation was "under control with no serious injuries." Still, everyone's waiting for the official word from RCD Espanyol and the police to get the real count of injured folks and how they're doing.

The ref, Soto Grado, actually stopped the game between Espanyol and Barcelona for a bit, going over to talk to the security guys to figure out what was going on. Even though everyone was pretty shaken up at first, they eventually got the game back underway, but the atmosphere was definitely heavy after what went down.

This whole thing throws a dark cloud over what was already a super tense match-up, one that they'd already flagged as high-risk, which meant there was already a big police presence. The investigation into why this happened is already underway, and the cops are gonna be trying to figure out if it was just a terrible accident or something way more messed up.
