Lionel Messi has taken over the MLS so far, and his team, Inter Miami, has impressed when the Argentine star and his good friends Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba start the games. Inter Miami are first in the Eastern Conference with 35 points after 18 matches played. Soon, the MLS will have a new expansion team, and they have already made their first major signing. The new expansion team, San Diego FC, has officially announced the signing of Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano from PSV. Lozano is the first designated player for the club, and he signed a four-year deal that starts next year. The team will make its debut in 2025, and it is striving to be amongst the best in the MLS, ahead of Inter Miami.

Lozano is one of the best Mexican players, and he is currently 28 years old. The Mexican winger played with PSV this past season, and he will continue to play for the Dutch champions for the remainder of 2024. He played a total of 33 matches for PSV across all competitions, where he scored six goals and provided three assists. PSV won the league convincingly, as they were in first place with 91 points after 34 league matches had been played. Their record was 29 wins, four draws, and one loss.

San Diego FC won’t stop there with signings, as they want to make a huge statement by bringing in Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City. The Atheltic reports that Kevin De Bruyne’s representatives held talks with San Diego FC, as the Southern California city is a place De Bruyne would consider if he were to play in MLS. The Belgian midfielder has hinted at a possible exit from the Premier League champions as Saudi Arabian clubs are also interested. Sergio Ramos is also rumored to join the club, which would fill the squad with lots of experience.

Who will Inter Miami sign for next season?

Inter Miami already has a star player lined up for next year to compete with teams like San Diego FC. Inter Miami is close to signing Angel Di Maria, who was set to return to Argentina, but due to dangerous conditions, he could end up playing at Inter Miami with Messi as soon as this summer instead of at the start of next year.
