Real Madrid drew 2-2 to Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium in La Liga. Real Madrid is still first in the La Liga table, with 66 points, but Girona and FC Barcelona could get closer if they win their league games tomorrow. Meanwhile Valencia are 8th in La Liga with 37 points.

In the first half, Real Madrid created chances to score and dominated the possession but they were behind from out of no where. Valencia scored the opener in the 27th minute when Hugo Duro scored a header into the right corner. Valencia went on a counterattack. Fran Perez looks to take a shot but instead the ball goes towards the middle of the box where it meets Duro's head. The striker adjusts himself to send the ball to the bottom right corner.

Only three minutes later, Valencia scored the second goal. Dani Carvajal doesn't look up and passes the ball back to Lunin with little power. Valencia's Roman Yaremchuk intercepts th apass and runs around Lunin to push the ball into the empty net. Valencia doubled the lead but conceded late before halftime.

Vinicius Jr. pulled one back before halftime as Gaya deflected Carvajal's low cross. Mamardashvili reached for the ball but couldn't get to it. Rodrygo touches the ball slightly, and Vinicius pushes the ball into the empty net. Vinicius celebrated in front of the Valencia fans since he faced racism in last year's game at Mestalla.

Vinicius scored again to give Real Madrid a point, but late drama occurred at the end

After many opportunities from Real Madrid, Los Blancos found the equalizer thanks to Vinicius, who scored his second of the game in the 76th minute. The Brazilian got his brace thanks to a great chipped ball by Brahim Diaz. Diaz crossed it to the left post, and Vinicius jumped high to direct a header into the net. VAR reviewed for offside, and after a long check, the goal was given.

Valencia could've won it at the end when a penalty was called in favor of Valencia. VAR checked it and removed the penalty for Valencia. The game ended dramatically when the referee ended it just before Jude Bellingham scored a header. Real Madrid players were furious with the referee after the game and it stays 2-2.
